Vic: Youth drowns in Yarra River
A 17-year-old has drowned after swimming with friends in the Yarra River east of Melbourne.
The teenager got into difficulties and disappeared underwater while swimming with 10
friends near Webb Street in Warrandyte at about 3pm (AEST) this afternoon.
Police say one of the group raised the alarm, and local police and members of the Search
and rescue Squad joined a search for the teenager.
His body was found near where he disappeared about two and a half hours later.
His name has not been released.
