'High School Musical' to tour.

Byline: Frank Rizzo

Oct. 25--Hey, kids. Let's put on a show -- and take it on tour.

"High School Musical," the Disney Channel TV movie and soundtrack that became an entertainment phenom, is being adapted as a concert, with a North American tour set to begin in late November, featuring many of the stars from the film.

The 40-city tour begins Nov. 30 in San Diego and continues through January. A Jan. 4 date in Hartford was listed in the tour itinerary, according to an Associated Press story. A Hartford Civic Center spokesman says the show is not official yet.

Cast members who will re-create their film roles include stars Monique Coleman and Lucas Grabeel. The film's director and choreographer, Kenny Ortega, will be the creative director of the concert, which also features from the film Corbin Bleu, Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens. Also cast is Drew Seeley, who co-wrote "Get'cha Head in the Game" and sang on the soundtrack.

Tickets are slated to go on sale Nov. 4.
