Thai Brokers Urge Regulators to Delay Enforcing New Rules.

Feb. 6--Securities brokers have called on market regulators to extend the April 1 deadline for compliance with the new net settlement rules, saying they would not be able to finish upgrading their internal computer systems in time.

Representatives of brokerage firms have already submitted their proposal to the Stock Exchange of Thailand, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Finance Ministry, demanding that the deadline be delayed or the new rules on net settlements be thrown out.
